A halfway house, sometimes called a recovery house or sober living facility, is a facility which enables a person who is just getting over addiction to live in an environment which will help them re-acclimate to society as a sober individual who wants to lead a more full and wholesome life. Following alcohol and drug treatment, it is occasionally necessary for persons to live in a halfway house where they can partake in additional counseling and therapy services while also finding a job and a place to live so that they can have everything in their life geared towards success and abstinence. A halfway house is a way to decrease the risk of relapse, and gives individuals in Art who are recovering from addiction the opportunity to build a happier life for themselves.
