Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment center which works to treat drug and alcohol addiction problems and psychological disorders which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the treatment client in rehab partakes in various rehabilitation activities and approaches in the daytime and then leaves in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted people in Elmendorf who are unable to afford long-term inpatient treatment, or for treatment clients who are unable to be apart from their households for prolonged lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, people participate in standard counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while also dealing with mental health problems which could keep them from remaining abstinent when rehab is done.
