Treating individuals who are addicted to drugs or alcohol and have ended up in the criminal justice system has proven effective in preventing future drug related criminal offenses by those that do take advantage of treatment programs. For criminal justice clients in Iraan who do agree to take part in treatment in drug rehabilitation centers, even against one's will as is often ordered by the court, these individuals have a far better chance at dealing with the crux of the problem so that they can remain off of drugs and away from being implicated in drug related criminal activity. The costs to the criminal justice system associated with these drug related criminal offenses is also impacted beneficially when criminal justice clients become rehabbed in drug and alcohol treatment centers in Iraan in lieu of jail time or other penalties.
