Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment facility which works to treat drug and alcohol addiction problems and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in rehabilitation partakes in a variety of rehab activities and approaches in the day and then returns home in the night time. This is carried out several days a week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug addicted persons in Nederland who may not be able to pay for long-term inpatient treatment, or for those who are not able to be apart from their households for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals take part in typical counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction problems while at the same time overcoming psychological problems which could keep them from staying sober after treatment is complete.
